Mozart's young son Karl longs to be taken from his boarding school to spend more time with his famous father. An old traveling trunk serves as a magic chest that reveals an incredible journey back in time. Along the way, Karl comes to understand his father, his pressures from family and fame, his passion for composing, and the common bonds they both share. This charming production, from the producers of Beethoven Lives Upstairs, features 23 excerpts from Mozart's most important and engaging works.

Stravinsky: Suite from The Firebird
Sat. May 12 at 01:30 PM
Sat. May 12 at 03:30 PM
Join the TSO for the public première of a delightful, newly-commissioned work based on The Hockey Sweater, Roch Carrier's classic story! Inspired by his own childhood, it's about a boy who had to wear a Maple Leafs sweater in the small, hockey-mad Québec town where he grew up. Roch Carrier will narrate this piece, in a programme hosted by former Montreal Canadiens goaltender, Ken Dryden.
The performances include screens that the whole audience will be able to view, projecting Sheldon Cohen’s illustrations from the book and dazzling images of our Canadian landscape.
