TSYO Awards Information
Approximately 15 financial awards are available to TSYO members each year.
Musicians who display superior ability and/or are in need of financial assistance will be eligible for an award in the amount of $600.
Award winners are determined by a jury consisting of the TSYO faculty and staff, and are based on the following criteria:
- Overall commitment to TSYO
- Demonstrating leadership within the orchestra (performance and attitude)
- Attendance & Punctuality (regular attendance and arriving on time to all TSYO-related events/rehearsals)
- Professionalism
- Playing Excellence (includes overall performance and improvement)
To apply for a scholarship, a one page letter (500 words maximum) outlining your reasons for applying must be submitted to the TSYO manager no later than October 2, 2010. Please include any information about extenuating circumstances of which we should be aware. Please note that no late applications for an award will be accepted (firm).
Award winners will be announced in early spring (end of March/beginning of April), and names printed in the Spring Concert programme.
