Mahler Symphony 6
Thomas Dausgaard,
conductor
Mahler's Symphony No. 6 is quite possibly the most emotionally overwhelming of all his works. Three of the four movements rejoice in the richness of life and the beauties of love. The finale is a titanic struggle against the cold indifference of destiny, whose awesome power Mahler depicted in the terrifying blows of an enormous hammer.
