The Requiem is Mozart's final and unfinished composition. In it he portrayed with immense skill and understanding both the nerve-wracking terror of the last judgment, and the heavenly grace of the afterlife. Teenage piano sensation Jan Lisiecki, acclaimed on CBC as "one of the most sensational young artists to emerge in Canada in the past decade," makes his TSO début with the brooding intensity of Mozart's Concerto No. 20.

The January 21 performance is followed by a post-concert party with live music by the Ron Davis Trio.

On Tuesday, January 10, Rick Phillips will be discussing the Requiem at the North York Central Library as part of their "Thought Exchange" series. To register for this FREE chat call 416-395-5639. Visit torontopubliclibrary.ca for details.

*Please note: Jan Lisiecki will only be performing Piano Concerto No. 20 on Jan. 18, 19, and 22.

*Jan 22 at George Weston Recital Hall. For tickets, visit tso.ca or call Ticketmaster at 1.855.985.ARTS (2787).

Casual Concerts are performed without an intermission and are followed by a party in the lobby. Mingle with musicians in a relaxed setting and enjoy live music by local bands.

Seating for the January 21 performance of Mozart’s Requiem is very limited. Please call 416-593-4828 to inquire about availability.
