Canadian violinist Karen Gomyo, winner of the prestigious
2008 Avery Fisher Career Grant, performs Bruch’s
enchanting Concerto No. 1. The Toronto Star describes
the final piece on this programme as “angular, angry,
loud, sentimental, mordant: Vaughan Williams's Fourth
Symphony is an exercise in using pure compositional
technique to fashion a powerful statement of emotion
and meaning.”
On Mar. 24 at 7:15pm, join Rick Phillips for a relaxed and enlightening discussion about the performance, with a Pre-Concert Chat in the lobby.
