This programme of kaleidoscopic showpieces launches the Rachmaninoff & the Impressionists focus. The acclaimed Venezuelan pianist, Gabriela Montero, makes her TSO début with Rachmaninoff’s virtuoso variations for piano and orchestra. The TSO’s superbly talented principal clarinet, Joaquin Valdepeñas, takes the spotlight for an intriguing rhapsody by Debussy.
