Conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto makes his TSO début with this immensely colourful programme. Violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg brings her uniquely infectious exuberance to tango legend Astor Piazzolla's spicy South American evocations of the four seasons. Stravinsky's kaleidoscopic dance score, Petrouchka, tells a haunting tale of love and betrayal, set in the bustling world of a Russian fairground.

Conductor Robert Spano, with much regret, must cancel his engagement with the TSO, due to a slipped disc.  He is recovering but must stay off his feet as much as possible over the next several days.
