Dvořák New World Symphony
Andrew McCandless,
trumpet
Bramwell Tovey showcases his multiple talents on this exciting programme. Andrew McCandless, the spectacularly gifted Principal Trumpet of the TSO, takes the spotlight for the world première of a concerto that Tovey composed expressly for him. The Maestro also conducts Dvořák Ninth Symphony, a piece that this Czech composer created while living in New York. Spiced with African-American and Aboriginal influences, it also gives voice to the nostalgic longing he felt for his homeland.
