Britten War Requiem
Peter Oundjian,
conductor
The TSO marks Remembrance Day by honouring all those who have given their lives in defence of freedom. Benjamin Britten's War Requiem is a soul-searching choral masterpiece. Combining the traditional Latin Requiem text with the works of First World War poet Wilfred Owen, and ingeniously scored for massed and varied forces, it will stir you as profoundly as any piece of music you've ever heard.
