Terry Holowach, Violin
Terry Holowach was born in Calgary. At the age of three he moved to Timmins Ontario where he began studying the violin at the age of six. By eleven years of age he started his bi-monthly trips to Toronto where he studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music with John Moskalyk. In the summer he attended National Yorth Orchestra sessions. In 1970 he graduated from the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto studying with professor Lorand Fenyves. In September 1970 he joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra until 1972 when he traveled to study with Oleh Krysa at the Kiev Conservatory.In 1974 he rejoined the TSO as a member of the first violin section.

Besides the Orchestra, Mr Holowach has performed with the Trio Da Capo and he has served as Concertmaster with the Pro Arte Orchestra under the direction of Victor Di Bello. In 1982 he was Concertmaster in a Sony recording of Wagner's Seigfried Idyll conducted by Glenn Gould. He continues to take part in chamber performances, enjoys teaching and is on faculty at the Algonquin International Music Institute.
