After completing his studies at the University of Toronto with former Principal Double Bass of the TSO, Thomas Monohan, Peter Madgett played Principal Bass with the Chamber Players of Toronto and the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, and as a member of the National Ballet of Canada and Canadian Opera Company Orchestras. He also has been on the teaching faculties of the University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music. In 1978 he joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra on his return from a period of studying composition and working in London, England. He is also the Assistant Personnel Manager of the Orchestra. Peter is married to the Canadian soprano, Mary Lou Fallis.
