Members of the Orchestra

James Spragg, Trumpet
Currently Second Trumpet in the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Jim has a varied background which is the foundation for a solid orchestral career.

He has held many important positions in some of Canada's major performing groups, such as the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, Hamilton Philharmonic, Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet of Canada, The Stratford Festival and New Music Concerts. In 1980, he was the recipient of the Maureen Forrester Award. He has taught at Toronto Waldorf School, Queens University, York University, The Royal Conservatory of Music, and is currently on staff at The University of Toronto and Upper Canada College.

Either as teacher, recitalist, or in the Orchestra, you will never see Jim far away from the trumpet.
