Charmain Louis,
viola
Charmain Louis, one of the few aboriginal Torontonians, is the product of a swing dance band leader and a mother who drove a large green Ford van 40 years before middle-aged women began doing so en masse. With her usual impeccable timing she sojourned with the Quebec Symphony during the lead up to the first referendum. She returned to Toronto tout de suite, and has played with the TSO ever since, which is roughly forever. Though she currently sports red hair, she bristles at any comparison to a certain Israeli viola teacher. She is rabidly carnivorous, and an avid downhill skier.
